Hill violin Opus 408

Opus 408 was made originally in 2009 and acoustically reworked in 2011. When I was working on these smaller full sized violins, I made the decision to work with violins of this size in the same way that olympic runners might put lead soles on their shoes to act as an extra constraint so that when they "get the lead out" they can run even faster. By purposely working on smaller sized violins and being able to make them sound as grand as possible, when I transfer that technology to a full sized violin it should make them even grander than they might otherwise have been.

You can observe for yourself how the sound of this particular instrument has changed because I posted sound samples made on 408 in its previous 2009 condition. You can find those by clicking on the Violins for Sale 3 button on the left.
